Summer Camp

The staff at a camp is so important and here at Camp Redwood we are lucky not only to have such a wonderful family to own and direct us as we have with Irma, Buddy and Jon but we also have a core group of people that we could not run our program without.

Rory Mushlin- Program Director

Rory comes to Camp Redwood with a wide variety of past skills and trade. Growing up in New York City, Rory began his teaching by coaching hockey at Chelsea Piers and really began to have his first camp experience there at the Chelsea Piers Summer Sports Camp. After graduating high school in 2003 Rory moved to New Hampshire to continue his studies in Sports and Recreational Management at Franklin Pierce University. While in New Hampshire he spent his time by working for the community service department, assisting in the coordination of Pierce Pals and Boynton Buddies, both youth mentoring programs that assisted in the local school districts. Along with continuing as a hockey coach Rory also spent time working for a not for profit behavior modification program for boys 10-16.

Following his time in New Hampshire Rory moved to Michigan where again hockey seemed to follow. Along with that Rory worked at a year round camp that hosted a Outdoor Education Center throughout the school year as well as regular summer programming. During that time Rory spent time working for the Outdoor Ed. Center throughout the winter months and came back east to spend his summers working for Summer Camps in the New York Area. In 2008 he moved back to New York full time taking a job at the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh as a Manager and Hockey Director.

In 2011 Rory came to Camp Redwood with a tremendous amount of ideas and enthusiasm and has now been appointed as our Program Director. Looking forward Rory has the tools and determination to help us grow and help take our program to uncharted territory.
